Well, here we are, about a year away from finishing residency. We just returned from a whirlwind interview-for-jobs-our-life-will-change-in-a-year trip. We interviewed in 3 dreamy spots: Holladay (SLC, utah) Logan, UT and Boise, Idaho. Each place had everything we wanted and we left with 3 good choices and knowing we have to choose 1.
The best part of the trip was I got to sit in on the "interview" in two of the places. It was so fun for me to hear Brad talk about himself and his accomplishments and I really think I was beaming with pride. We left the kids with our parents and were off on an amazing race type adventure for the next 5 days.
We started in Logan. I loved Logan for many reasons. 4 of those reasons are because I lived there for 4 years. And the temple. We got to attend together one morning.
Driving to Logan with My Brad.
Boise. I think the had us stay in this perfect hotel right downtown next to fun shops and restaurants and this beautiful river walk. We ran in the morning and walked in the evening.
Walking while B-rad was talking to the big guys.
Who wouldn't want to live in a place that promotes healthy living. And let me tell you, this is not the norm in the rest of the country!
Feasting on the local mexican.
And Salt Lake City. What's not to love!!
So, we have a big decision to make. I have always had a pretty easy time whenever we move. I get in and get busy and meet people and carry on. For the past while we've been told where we are going, more or less, but this time is different. In 20 years, the kids will look back and say, "you chose to live here!" And that choice is pretty fun to get to make and amazing. When the med school thing started I don't think either of us thought there was a prayer of getting back to the intermountain west and here we scored 3 ideal locations. We'll keep you posted.
Mother's Day...
We spent May 12th in the airport and on the plane.
We checked all of our bags!!! 6 bags!!! A mother's day gift to me. We didn't pull a single thing around, aside from the stroller and the baby and the backpack. When we got to the airport, Brads garment bag didn't make it. It was lost. Do you remember when I threw away all of his clothes last year? Not funny, when his garment bag gets thrown away! Two suits, expensive shirts and ties and shoes. It would've been over a thousand dollars to replace...but they found it a while later. Yay.
So, back to mother's day. B-rad held the babe.
The kids watched a movie.
And I...sat here and pretty much stared because I didn't bring anything to do during my luxurious solitary place ride. It was wonderful to have my best guy on my left and my kiddos right by me. Really, it was a great mother's day.
And...i finally got the lava cake at chili's. I have tried to make said lava cake several times to unsuccessful results.
My best little boy.
One of a kind oldest girl.
This is really how he looks at this stage of his life.
And this spunky petit lady.
I love being a mom.
